Information for people with visual impairments

Our passenger information systems work largely according to the two-senses principle, so that at least two of the three senses - hearing, sight and touch - are taken into account:

  • Dynamic passenger information including buttons for voice output
  • Tactile guidance elements at the stops
  • Vehicles equipped with acoustic announcements
  • High contrast display on infotainment screens in our buses and trams

Assistance service at the central bus and tram station

For passengers with reduced mobility or visual impairments, we offer an assistance service at our central bus and tram station (Zentralhaltestelle) in the city centre. On request, one of our service team members will pick you up from the arriving bus or tram, help you to find your connecting stop and to board the bus or tram.

The service is free of charge and can be booked up to one working day in advance via our service telephone.
